Laying up of Leith Battalion Colours

Posted on: Thursday, November 10, 2016

A number of current and past members, leaders and friends of The Boys' Brigade turned out for the laying up of Leith Battalion Colours at South Leith Parish Church on Sunday 6th November.

The sanctuary is that bit more colourful with the formal laying up of the Leith Battalion Colours on Sunday 6th November 2016.  Drums of 10th Leith BB Bugle Band formed a drumhead over which the two colours were laid.  Rev Iain May, Minister of SLPC together with the Kirk Session accepted the Colours and they are now laid up alongside the two earlier sets of Leith Battalion Colours. This allows the three sets covering the whole period of the Leith Battalion to be laid up together in the one place.

The laying up cermony was incorporated into the annual Enrolment & Dedication Service of 10th Leith Boys' Brigade.  The service was conducted by Rev Iain May, Minister of SLPC.
