The Battalion is hosting a Company Section and Junior Section Adventure Weekend from 4th - 6th October 2019 at Craggan Outdoor Centre to provide residential opportunties within the Battalion.
The Battalion will organise transport to and from Craggan Outdoor Centre. It will also look after the catering.
The cost for the activity weekend is £60 per Member and Leaders are free-of-charge*. This includes travel, accommodation, meals and activities.
*1 Leader is free-of-charge for every four Members. The cost for extra Leaders is £50 per Leader.

The Scottish National Cross Country Championships will take place on Saturday 5th October 2019, being hosted by Strathkelvin Battalion. Please note this replaces the event which was due to take place in March 2019 that unfortunately was cancelled due to bad weather.
Registration times are between 11.30am & 12.30pm
Junior Race (Ages 11, 12 & 13 as on 16th March 2019)
Intermedaite (Ages 14 & 15 as on 16th March 2019)
Seniors (Ages 16, 17 & 18 as on 16th March 2019)
Interested participants please discuss with your Officer in charge and ask that they confirm the BB HQ ASAP.
There will be 120 playable spaces available with 30 players in each 15 minute game.
There will be a total of 8 games played across the afternoon with each group of 30 being allocated a given time slot and each player participating in 2 games.
Depending on the numbers entered there may be an option to play in further games however the charge per player will be £4 per 2 rounds.
Further details and the entry forms will become available within the week.
Indoor 5-a-side football event being scheduled for this session, will be done in 2 age categories (P7 – S3) and (S3-S6).
Companies are welcome to submit joint teams which may be of benefit to our smaller groups and ensures the events are open to all.
Please wear sports kit for those participating, further details may follow with regards to appropriate footwear and rules of use for the venue. Also suggest water bottles are brought along.
Entry fee - £15.00 per team*. This event is being subsidised by the Battalion.
Please also remember to have completed Special Consent forms for each participant on the night.

The Annual Junior Section Swimming event is coming up soon which consists of 6 individual events and finally a relay event to end the day on.
If you have participants in your company who would like to take part this time around please read the rules and complete the entry form with the names of those wishing to race in each category.
Each participant must also complete a Special Activity consent form.
Registration takes place at 2.20pm

48th Edinburgh will be hosting the Company Section PT event in Penicuik this session.

The JS indoor football event is taking place on Sunday 12th January at Meadowmill Sports Centre from 1pm.
P4/5 teams will be 6-a-side and are permitted to have a pool of upto 8 players.
P6 teams will be run as a 5-a-side event with a pool of 7 players.

The Table Tennis Tournament will run on the evening of 17th January 2020 at Craigmount High School which is open to all companies to enter and participate in.
During the evening there will also be Badminton Courts available to use in between matches.
All levels and abilities welcome to join in so no excuses not to sign up and we hope to see you all there.

Junior Section quiz night is always good fun and becomes more popular each year and the perfect opportunity to get a mix of companies together regardless of the weather.
If leaders are unavailable on the night to take children along, parents are invited to take them with the invite to stay and watch the quiz and enjoy some refreshments during the evening. So even if there is only 1 boy/girl in your company who is keen to take part we ask that you encourage them go along.
There is no charge for this event and we look forward to seeing you on the night.
The event runs for approximately 1 hour with the quiz starting at 7.30pm.

The Annual Badminton event takes place on Sunday 9th February 2020 at Forrester and St Augustine.
Both Doubles and Singles events take place on the same evening, with the Doubles commencing at 5.00pm (registration 4.45 at latest) followed by the singles event at 6.30pm (registration at 6.15prompt).
Own racquets must be brought along.
Cost is £2.50 per person for the singles and £2.50 per team for the doubles event.

The Junior Section Figure Marching event will take place again this session following on with last years simplified aproach which we hope will encourage a few more companies to give this competition a go.
This is designed as a FUN event, keeping the children active, working as a team and with a bit of focus and attention required.
Ideally practice should not be onerous and kept to short periods of time over a number of weeks.
The event will run between 2nd and 16th March 2020 during which you choose a date and time that is suited for your Company and the judges will come to you in your own halls.
Composite teams can be entered if companies would like to join together to create larger teams (max number of 12).
Routines and entry forms will be publised ASAP to allow plenty of practice time.

This event was anything but your normal boring quiz night and turned out to be such a success we are running it again!
The event is open to all Company Section members with a team consisting of 3 - 5 players with no limit on the amount of teams a company enters and as always we encourage the odd numbers to come along and make up composite teams on the night.
The event is free of charge with refreshments being provided during the evening. We look forward to seeing many of you on the night.

A special event for our Anchor Section Members only
We are in the early stages of trying to organise an outing to Conifox for the Youngest members of the Battalion.
We will keep you updated on all the details as soon as possible.

As this event was so popular the first time around we will once again look to run this event, but this time around it will be for our Junior Section members only.
There is likely to be 90 spaces available with our BB Group having sole use of the Aquadash.
Further information will be available as soon as we have it all confirmed.
Children aged 6-8 require adult supervision at a ratio of 2 children per adult. ages 9 and above do not require in pool supervision.
We will also have access to a meeting room for gathering before and after and will allow the children/adults time to socialise and have a bite to eat and drink.
snacks will not be provided on this occassion and we suggest you remind all to bring something along with them on the day.
